Tarfin is looking for a critical minded Assistant Financial Controller to take full ownership of its accounting control and reporting processes.

The Role:

The Assistant Financial Controller will have responsibility to oversee accounting, budgeting and financial reporting processes.

The duties of the Controller will include preparing, monitoring and updating of the annual budget; managing the accounting month-end closing processes; controlling the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting variances, trends and deficiencies from the budget; and responsible for reporting internally (management and board) and to third parties (financial institutions and capital markets investors).

What you will do:

• Contributing to the Company’s annual budget and long-term forecasts by establishing monthly/quarterly/annual budget review procedures
• Controlling the month-end closing process of the accounting team
• Analyzing existing accounting and finance procedures to identify risks, establish new control mechanisms and procedures to address these risks and ensure new procedures are executed successfully
• Supporting the preparation of the financial statements of the company both in local GAAP and IFRS
• Preparing monthly budget variance reports
• Working together with the outsourced Accountants on statutory reporting and tax declarations
• Controlling monthly COGS calculation and improving COGS related accounting processes
• Taking active role in global expansion planning and execution process in terms of finance and accounting
• Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual performance reports to financial institutions and Asset Backed Security Investors.
• Supervising the independent financial audit of Tarfin as well as the asset funds used by Tarfin and its investment banking partners to issue asset backed securities in capital markets.
• Preparing presentations for internal stakeholders
• Continuously striving to improving the automation of reporting
• Working closely with Product Manager and Development team for improving the system and its output
• Produce, maintain and monitor compliance of financial and internal control policies and processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in a quantitative field from a top university
• Min 2 years experience at multinational companies
• Solid knowledge of accounting
• Strong analytical skills with a critical and inquisitive attention to detail
• Highly motivated self-starter and comfortable taking initiative to drive operational changes within the company
• Efficient in using excel for financial analysis and modelling
• Experience in preparing financial forecasts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
• Passionate for working in a dynamic startup environment
